The Business
The Little Doll House and Hospital, new to Stoudtburg in September 2008, offers doll lovers a wide variety of services and products. The business which began over 15 years ago as a doll repair service has grown into a full service repair and restoration business offering repair work on all types of dolls, antique and modern. In addition to restoration services The Doll House carries a large selection of antique dolls and accessories, old and new doll's clothing including those for the American Girl doll, doll furniture, and vintage ladies clothing and toilette items.

Specializing in fine restoration of antique bisque and composition dolls, redressing antique dolls in vintage clothing, and custom made "new" clothing made from vintage materials, artist/proprietor Karen Boulanger has been mending broken bebes for over 20 years. American Girl dolls in need of restringing will be done while you wait.

Karen, a prize winning porcelain doll artist, also offers handmade antique reproductions, one-of-kind fantasy creations (faeries and elves a favorite), and reproduction and original design automata (moving musical dolls). Wedding portrait dolls may also be had, made to order.

The Doll House is open Fridays and Saturdays 10am-5pm, Sunday 12noon -4pm, or by appointment. Phone (717) 484-0542.

Artist Karen Boulanger Redsicker
Born Sept. 10, 1943 in Englewood Cliffs New Jersey. The family moved shortly after her birth to Chatham New jersey where she lived until going off to college at Wittenberg University in Ohio where she earned a BFA (Batchelor of Fine Arts). In addition she collected a Masters degree in Art at Montclair State in New Jersey and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Followed a diverse career in art that included teaching high school, commercial/graphic artist, illustrator, cartoonist, managing production for newspapers, sign designer....and, a short stint as a computer technician for graphic production. The common thread throughout the career was a love of art (especially clay and sculpture)...and antiques (antique dolls).

Upon "retiring" in 1989, Karen decided to pursue a dream of sculpting faces which eventually led to making antique reproduction dolls, and then, antique doll restoration. The dream of having a doll shop and hospital was complete upon relocation to Stoudtburg Village in Adamstown.
